Completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a crucial step for parents of high school seniors as they prepare for college. This form determines a student’s eligibility for federal financial aid, including grants, loans, and work-study opportunities. It’s important to gather necessary financial documents, such as tax returns and bank statements, to ensure an accurate application. Submitting the FAFSA early can maximize potential aid, so starting the process when the portal opens is beneficial. It's important to pay attention to the individual deadlines that each college sets for financial aid as well. Remember, this is a collaborative effort; engaging your senior in discussions about their college plans can make the experience more meaningful. Review the Filling out the FAFSA Form page to be ready to complete the FAFSA. Be sure to check out the workshops we offer throughout the year as well.
